Driving Lessons Waltham Abbey: How long does it take to pass the driving test?
You can be in total control of the time it takes...
I want to start by giving you a few facts.
The DVSA (that's the government agency for learning to drive) say that if you take 20 hours of private tuition then the average number of hours with a professional driving instructor is 47.
That does seem rather high, but it takes into consideration all learner.
Unfortunately there are some driving schools who are very happy at just giving you a weekly one hour lesson, collecting your cash and seeing you next week.
The fewer hours your do and the longer it is until your next lesson, the more you forget.
It's a bit like at school, we all had one subject which was just one hour a week, and what happened in right following lesson? That's right, you forgot what you did the previous week.
What can you do?
1) start taking lessons and do as many a you think you can in a week.
Let say for example you have 2, two hour lessons.
2) Book your theory test and look to pass it inside the first month of learning to drive. Not only is this a massive milestone but it helps you to learn in the car.
3) Once you have passed your theory test, book your practical.
By now you should have done 16-20 hours of lessons, and if your test is in 6 weeks time by working to your current schedule you will have completed around 40 hours.
If you are not ready for the driving test, you can always postpone it for a later date. But this schedule will help you pass your driving test inside 3 months, and because you are condensing your learning, you pick up the skills more quickly and therefore save money on driving lessons.
